Our Adventure to South Korea Begins

I can’t believe we’re actually here. As I shared previously, Orly was hired for an acting job in Seoul, South Korea, which required us to relocate for 2 months.  Leaving my husband and two younger boys for two months was unfathomable, but this was a huge opportunity for my son, and we were determined to support him. 

For weeks I’d been preparing, packing, and planning for this journey. This wasn’t just about what clothes we’d bring. 

I contemplated some serious questions:

“What if something happens to me while I’m there?” 

“How do I leave Orlando armed with everything he needs?”

“What can I do to alleviate my absence for my other kids?” 

The behind-the-scenes included making sure my will was up-to-date, buying travel insurance, going on dates with my husband and each son, pulling Orly out of school and switching him to home-schooling, leaving my husband with a list of passwords and instructions in case he needs them, and writing letters for my boys to read while I was gone. And that doesn’t include the to-do’s for the business! 

I spent countless time and energy leaving my affairs in order.

What’s Next?

We officially made it to Seoul. We’ve been sent to a mandatory, government-issued quarantine facility for the first 14 days. The experience has been surreal, and it’s only day 2!  I wanted to let you know that we are documenting our trip and the quarantine process on Instagram. I am still getting my bearings here — experiencing, learning, and paying attention to the lessons.
