Happy Sacred Sunday!
Can you believe this is our last Sacred Sunday together of 2025? I took this week off to enjoy a vacation with my Five Fingers, but I couldn’t skip sending you this last little Moment of Clarity email.
Before we dive in, I want to know: have you ever been shocked to realize you’re in the midst of a full circle moment? That’s what today’s email is all about.
I’m writing to you from the beautiful city of North Carolina, which is way more symbolic than I realized when we planned this trip.
We had been looking for a Christmas time football game in a cold city that we could plan a vacation around, and there was a game in Charlotte that sparked our interest. Hence, North Carolina became our destination.
About a week ago, my son was goofing around in school and broke his foot. They casted him at urgent care, but when we took him to the orthopedic doctor, one of my best friends since high school, Dr. Alejandro Pino in case you’re ever in need of an orthopedic surgeon, he quickly took the cast off and put Orly in a boot.
He explained that the fracture was the equivalent of pulling something off the wall and taking a piece of paint off. Not an actual broken bone. Rather, a fleck of bone came off the top.
“The moment you don’t feel pain anymore, you can take off the boot and resume normal life,” Alex said to Orly.
It dawned on me that the last time my Five Fingers went to North Carolina to welcome the new year, Orly had broken his foot and was in a boot. What a coincidence!
I mentioned this to my friend Nikki, who I am going to visit on this trip, and she commented, “Oh that’s interesting, maybe this is a closing of the loop year for you. You should look into it.”
Into the rabbit hole I went.
Here are the facts:
We spent New Year’s in North Carolina in 2017. We drove there, and on December 31st, 2017, there was an unexpected snowfall, which turned to black ice on the roads. As we attempted to drive up the mountain to the cabin we were staying in, our car lost control and slid toward the edge of the mountain, saved by a tiny patch of grass that gave us just enough traction to stop.
That moment, and the crazy experience that followed, led to me writing my first book, Looking Over the Edge: Facing Your Fears, Finding Your Way, and All the Lessons in Between.
Here we are moments after climbing a mountain back to safety, December 31, 2017.
That happened right at the time when I was facing my fears of leaving my well established law career and starting a new path as an inspirational something. Speaker? Author? I didn’t really know what I was becoming yet.
It was the beginning of a beautiful journey that I’ve been on ever since, full of ups, downs, surprises, challenges, and triumphs.
We randomly chose North Carolina as our New Year’s destination in 2025, exactly eight years later.
I did some research from a numerology perspective and learned that eight is the number of karma, authority, power, material mastery, and energetic accountability. Chat GPT suggested returning to North Carolina eight years later was a spiral return, a moment to see whether you’re standing in the same place energetically, or the same place with a different level of consciousness.
Now check this out:
2017 equals Universal Year 1
Beginnings, initiations, identity shifts
2025 equals Universal Year 9
Completion, release, closure, soul harvest
This suggests that this year was the closing of the chapter of what I began in 2017 and a soul level review as I step into a new cycle in 2026.
Interestingly, Orly only wore his boot for two days. He didn’t need it for the trip, but had it on long enough for me to notice a connection I hadn’t noticed before.
Like I always say, I’m not suggesting that these numbers are the absolute truth or that I know without a shadow of a doubt that this trip was divinely orchestrated. What I am saying is that I enjoy the mystery of connecting these dots.
These little synchronicities make my life feel a little more magical, a little more meaningful, and a little more bliss full.
So here we are in North Carolina, and I am using this time to do some deep reflection on what the years have brought since that life changing trip in December of 2017.
NOW ITS YOUR TURN:
As you close out your year, what connections will you make? Maybe this is a closing of the loop year for you. Maybe it’s the beginning of a loop. Or maybe you’re in the middle and not quite ready to connect the dots.
Regardless of where you are in this journey, my invitation to you is to continue noticing what you’re experiencing right now. The good, the bad, the mysterious. Name your intentions going forward. And nurture those intentions.
The more you follow this framework, the more you will train your eyes to find the connections. And take it from me, life is so much more beautiful when you live with big eyes.
Happy New Year
