Happy Sacred Sunday!
Do you remember a couple of weeks ago, I wrote about how I had just gone on a sunrise walk with my community, my sister, and my new friend, Lulu? I promised I’d write more about that experience in a future email.
The day has arrived. I finally get to share those lessons with you today on this week’s podcast. But I like to share a few different details in my emails than I do on my podcasts, so whether you’re listening or reading (or both), you’re always getting something extra.🥰
I host sunrise walks all the time, but this last walk we did on January 24th of this year was one of the most special walks I’ve done so far. (That is saying a mouthful because they are all extraordinary in one way or another).
The very day we went on the walk, I came home and recorded a video about it, which is the video that became today’s podcast episode. That episode was inspired by Lulu’s contagious energy. But in looking back, I have noticed something I couldn’t quite name two weeks ago when all this took place.
In case you don’t know yet, the intention I named for February for myself (and for the Bliss’n Up collective) is Faith February.
This means that I have been looking at my life this month through the lens of faith. It didn’t occur to me, until I was ready to release this week’s podcast episode, how much faith has played a role in my relationship with Lulu.
(I also interviewed her on my podcast, and faith came up in that conversation organically as well. Stay tuned for that episode next week).
I digress.
Back to the day of the sunrise walk… I was experiencing profound sparks of bliss during and after the walk.
Afterward, I got to spend some time with Lulu and my sister and chat about how she runs her YouTube channel (her channel is all about her vanlife journey) and her life, and I could feel the conversation expanding me. I kept thinking, this woman is so organic, authentic, and daring, and the Universe is rewarding her for it. Since my word of the year is Excellence, I contemplated excellence from Lulu’s energy.
Could excellence mean becoming more and more of yourself?
What I didn’t realize yet, was that it was all leading me to explore faith more deeply.
That’s what I love about intentions. When you take the time to notice, name, and nurture your intentions, you start to see how interconnected the themes are and how they exist even before you can see them. I’ve started to understand that my life is revealing itself to me. It feels divinely inspired and connected to something that I may never fully understand. But I am thoroughly “enjoying the mystery” (thank you, Dave Bricker, for teaching me that).
Now I understand that the contagious energy I was getting from Lulu was watching a woman who trusts herself and trusts the process. She lives with more curiosity than control, although she has the discipline to control what is within her control (which is an important distinction). She is playful and joyful because she, too, enjoys the mystery.
Being in her energy expanded me in a big way. I felt the expansion before I understood it. But now I feel it and understand it.
The trust Lulu embodies is the kind of faith I am nurturing in my life, and the faith I implore you to nurture in yours.
You nurture this faith by:
- Daring to show up in your life.
- Approaching life with curiosity.
- Asking for help instead of trying to solve everything on your own.
- Witnessing the magic and synchronicities that life offers you.
- Releasing the fear of being yourself.
- Controlling what is within your control and letting go of everything else.
The list goes on and on.
We would have never met Lulu had my sister’s journey not taken a turn for the worse. This reminds me that even pain serves an important purpose. So whether you’re in a dark period or a bright one, this is a reminder that nurturing your faith will always lead you to more excellence and expansion.
Okay, so if you’re ready to hear all about the walk and the lessons I got that day, tune into this week’s podcast episode.
And if you feel called, reply to me and let me know: What does faith look like for you this month? How are you nurturing your own intention?
You know I love reading your reflections.
Sending you so much love on this Sacred Sunday,
