A week ago, at 2pm, I had just begun a 5-day mimic fast with my community. Going through the fast is a challenge. At the beginning it always feels like the end is so far away.
But here we are one week later. And those of us who did the fast are feeling fantastic.
You know how they say in child-rearing, “the days are long but the years are short.” That’s how this week felt.
Just like that it’s over, and we’re more resilient, healthier, and happier.
This experience got me thinking about the magic of doing hard things, and how it leads to bliss. Head on over to the podcast and listen in. It’s going to inspire you to try some new, hard things in your life!
But I also want to share an affirmation I wrote for my community that you can you use whenever you need it.

The hardest part of anything is deciding to do it—because if you are a person of your word, once you decide, you do.
Hard things are those things you don’t know how to do; those things that make you feel like an amateur or incapable of completing them; and those things that take you out of your comfort zone.. There are hard things life chooses for us — and those are the moments when we have no choice but to deal them. But there are also hard things we choose for ourselves. Those are the moments that make you wonder why the heck you agreed to it in the first place.
Those are the ones that we do, because even though they make us uncomfortable, they also help us become better version of ourselves. They help you tap into your resilience. They open the neural pathways in your brain. They help you live longer and happier.
So do the hard things. And affirm that you can. Because the challenge you’ve agreed to in this moment will be over before you know it, and the pain will be gone, but what will remain is your pride, your sense of accomplishment, and all the rewards from being the kind of person who can do hard things
