Happy Sacred Sunday!
Today is a very special Sacred Sunday because it’s also Father’s Day. A day to celebrate and remember the men in our lives who are fathers or father figures and who have impacted us on our journey.
I had the privilege of having an incredible father in my lifetime.
People sometimes say, “What a shame you lost your dad so soon.” But the truth is, having had him at all was the gift, no matter how much time I had to enjoy it.
We often mourn what we’ve lost without fully appreciating what we had.
Not everyone has a meaningful or special relationship with their father. So if you were one of the lucky ones, any time you had with him is a blessing to be thankful for.
Today, I also remember the father figures who have guided me, protected me, mentored me, and loved me during and after my father’s lifetime.
Men like my grandfathers, my uncle, my brother, and a few of my dad’s closest friends, who have been guardian angels in my life.
And today, I honor my husband, the man who has devoted his life to me and our children. Who has taught me more about marriage, family, and fatherhood than anyone else ever has.
As a woman raising boys into men, I believe we don’t spend enough time praising the incredible men in this world. Sometimes it feels like we’ve forgotten how much we need them and how deeply they matter.
They are different than women for a reason.
And they matter.
And for those men who were weak or who faltered, the ones who walked away, who hurt you, who never reached their highest potential, they too played a role.
They showed you your strength, your resilience, your ability to rise. Not in the way we would’ve wanted, but in the way life teaches through contrast. On a day like today, we remember that we are stronger and wiser because of what we chose to learn. We will do better. And we will grow through what they could not give.
So today, I invite you to remember and celebrate the men who’ve shaped your life. Acknowledge them. Thank them.
And if you are a man reading this message:
May today remind you that you matter. There is someone in this world who needs your mentorship, guidance, love, respect, and presence. Every day, you build your legacy with your choices, actions, and words. Your mistakes don’t define you … rather, who you choose to become from this day forward.
I see you. I honor you. And I’m rooting for you every step of the way.
Please forward this email to someone who needs to read this message on Father’s Day.
Sending you so much love today and every day,
