Hey there!
I was making eggs for my kids this morning and this metaphor popped into my head. It was so good I had to write a blog post about it, and of course, share it with you.
PROTECT THE YOLK
I’ve been thinking about the metaphor of an egg as it relates to life. In its purest form, an egg has a hard outer shell but is raw on the inside—slimy and gooey.
One way to prepare an egg is to hard boil it. The goal is to cook the white part, so the albumen becomes firm and well-formed, while protecting the yolk. Overcooking the yolk makes it chalky, smelly, and dry—and, more importantly, it loses many of its health benefits.
When you maintain the yolk’s integrity—its vibrant yellow color, softness, and richness—you maximize the egg as a superfood.
Now imagine you are the egg.
Your body represents the shell; the white part, your mind; and the yolk, your soul.
When you’re born, you’re an uncooked egg. You have the protective shell, but your insides are still raw.
Life is the boiling water.
As you grow, the boiling water represents circumstances, challenges, emotions, relationships, and all the puzzle pieces of your life.
It can be intense, even uncomfortable, but it forms and strengthens you. The heat is an opportunity to learn, grow, and develop into someone capable of serving society.
But that’s not always the case.
If you overboil the egg, it suffers.
The problem isn’t the boiling water itself. The real problem is how long the egg stays in the pot.
Maybe you’ve sat in negative emotions, limiting beliefs, or fear for so long that your yolk overcooks. Or perhaps you’ve experienced trauma or pain that has tampered with your soul.
Your egg whites become rubbery. Your yolk is chalky. You’re not the healthiest, happiest version of yourself. And in that state, you’re not the best source of support for others, either. You may think you’re not good enough, but that’s not true. You absolutely are good enough—you’re just not living or serving at your highest capacity.
We’ve all been overcooked by life at some point.
But the beauty of humanity is that, unlike the egg, we can reverse the process.
We can restart, reprogram our minds, and restore our souls.
It’s all about learning to navigate the boiling water—using the heat as a tool to strengthen and empower you, and knowing when to step out—rather than letting the circumstances rob you of your power.
This is your time to fortify your body, develop a resilient mind, and keep your soul soft, bright, and alive.
My mission is to help you shed old identities, change your lifestyle, align your actions, adopt new mindsets, and find your way back to your vibrant state.
I want to help you protect your yolk so that, instead of feeling like your life resembles those overcooked hard-boiled eggs you find at a gas station, you crack it open and discover a spark of bliss.
Schedule a complimentary consultation with me and let’s protect that beautiful soul of yours.
Sending you so much love.
