Happy Sacred Sunday!
Welcome to a new month and a new season. This is that time of the momth when I invite you to
✨ Notice what the last month brought you. What were the successes, the lessons, the highs, and the lows?
✨ Name your intention for the upcoming month. What do you want to bring with you into June? What do you want to leave behind in May? What are you going to focus on?
This ritual helps you nurture a life of intention and stay grounded in your principles and your mission.
Just yesterday, I attended one of my dear friend’s kid’s Bar Mitzvah.
Because they are an Orthodox Jewish family, they strictly observe the Sabbath with traditional rituals and practices.
As an example, they don’t use phones, TV, computers, or even drive their cars on the Sabbath.
From Friday sundown to Saturday sundown, they disconnect from the modern world and reconnect with their family, their faith, and their rest.
Out of respect for their culture, I left my phone in my car the entire time (which turned out to be the whole day.)
After a beautiful ceremony and a lovely luncheon, everyone gathered at my friend’s house. (Most of the guests walked the mile and a half from the Shul to their home.)
Throughout the day, I witnessed kids playing board games, swimming, and simply being present with one another and the adults. I sat with my friends, enjoying food and conversation, uninterrupted by notifications or pings demanding my attention.
The experience was liberating. And it felt effortless. There were no parents yelling at their kids demanding they get off screens, or kids begging parents to look up from their phones for attention.
Why? Because it’s a non-negotiable practice.
This is the power of ritual and rhythm.
When you have practices you can count on, life feels more peaceful and more grounded. In a world filled with noise and chaos, there’s magic in knowing what to expect and having sacred anchors.
It made me want to adopt a Sabbath observance in my life.
But it’s also why I cherish this monthly Live With Intention practice.
If you tune into the podcast regularly, you know each month includes one episode dedicated to this exact rhythm. It’s consistent, reliable, and helps us slow down long enough to live with intention.
Now I’d love to hear from you.
Do you look forward to these monthly episodes?
Do the monthly themes help you nourish your mind and soul?
Do you have any traditions, practices, or rituals that help make your life a little more sacred like observing Sabbath?
Feel free to write back and share. I love connecting with you.
And if you’re ready to learn what the Bliss’n Up theme for June is, tune in to this week’s episode below.
