Happy Sacred Sunday!
It’s a spectacularly beautiful Sunday morning on the beaches of Marco Island. I just finished a mindful, long walk by the water. The last couple of days I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the most gorgeous sunsets and quality time with friends and family.
A friend of mine captured this sweet picture of my oldest son, Orly, sitting with his momma enjoying her favorite view in the world.
But you know what has made the weekend most enjoyable? Believe it or not, it’s been how mindful I’ve been about food.
I have to confess to you, that for some time I had slipped into autopilot with my nutrition.
I got a little too comfortable with the identity of being a “healthy” eater who occasionally indulges. It’s like when you’re coasting in a healthy relationship or at work. Subconsciously you may start to take some things for granted, pay less attention, or stop doing the things that made things so great to begin with.
That happened to me with food.
It wasn’t a complete detour of my habits. I “mostly” eat well.
No, This was way more subtle.
It was an accumulation of choices here and there that showed I had started to drift.
Until I noticed the side effects.
Join me today on the podcast as I share some embarrassing but hilarious stories of myself, my journey to health, and how I noticed I’d slipped into autopilot.
This path of life is not a straight line. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it helps if you stay aware and mindful. Because the farther you detour from your aligned path, the harder it is to find your way again.
The reason I said my weekend vacation has been better because I’ve been mindful about food is because I feel awake and alive. I feel empowered and in control of myself. And that feeling makes me feel vibrant and bliss-full.
You can either sleepwalk through life or you can wake up.
May this be your invitation to wake up if you’re sleepwalking. If this message is for you, you’ll know.
Sending you a sun-kissed, coconut smelly hug today.
Hope you enjoy your Memorial Day long weekend.

Happy Sacred Sunday!
Recently I had one of those days where my brain kept leaping into the future, offering me scenarios about how my life (and my kids’ lives) could unfold if I headed in one direction or another.
Throughout the day I experienced that tight feeling in my chest, where you want to crawl out of your body.
Welcome to that yucky emotion we call anxiety.
A part of me wanted to find a distraction to ignore the feeling. Cue: anybody want to binge watch sex and the city and eat popcorn?
Do you ever long for the day to pass in hopes that tomorrow you’ll feel differently than you do right now?
I get it.
There are days I want to simply skip to the good part.
This week on the podcast, I talk about how often we want to fast-forward our life. But the problem with that behavior is that if you spend your days trying to skip to the good parts, you’ll miss your life in the process.
So, on this day I didn’t try to bypass or ignore the discomfort.
I noticed the feelings, acknowledged them, and stopped resisting them.
And I decided that those feelings could come along for the ride in my life, but I wasn’t going to let them drive the car nor was I going to jump out of my moving vehicle to get away from them.
I also realized that even on days like this, you can still be productive, mindful and intentional about moving through life. That’s why this week’s podcast isn’t just about emotions — it’s about what to do when you catch yourself drifting. I share 3 small, practical strategies that help me stay in the driver’s seat of my life even when my thoughts try to take the wheel.
I hope this episode meets you right where you are — and helps you come back home to the moment you’re in. Because no matter what you’re looking forward to in the future, the only moment you can actually live is the one you’re experiencing right now.
Sending you lots of love on this sacred Sunday,
