Happy Sacred Sunday!
Last week on the podcast, I shared about the principle of using intention to overcome overwhelm, rush, and anxiety especially during the holidays.
But I forgot to share a story that illustrates the principles beautifully. It’s too good NOT to share, so I’m sharing it with you this week.
A couple of year ago, I was hosting a group coaching program. My dear friend, Betsy, joined.
During one of our calls, I asked Betsy what her intention was for the week.
She said her intention was to slow down, but that she wasn’t going to be able to live into that intention until the following week!
She was quite upset about it.
Based on how she presented her problem, I coached her on ways to remove things from her plate. It seemed like a logical solution.
But after tackling each event one by one, Betsy noticed she didn’t want to remove anything from her plate.
Her plate was full of things she wanted to do.
The exercise led us to an even deeper question: if you want to do all these things, and your’e not willing to remove anything from your plate, then do you really want to slow down, or is there something else you want?
That’s when Betsy discovered what she really wanted. She wanted to be present and enjoy the week. Her belief at the time was that he only way to be present in life is by slowing it down.
Bingo.
It was then that I encouraged Betsy to set the intention of presence rather than slowing down.
She did, and after listening to last week’s episode, she called to remind me how that forever changed her life. She told me up until then she didn’t really understand what setting intentions was truly about.
It was so transformative, she now teaches intention in her life coaching academy.
This is such a powerful episode and will teach how you can change everything even when you can’t change anything.
You’ll even hear how this changed the experience of Betsy receiving the news that her father had cancer.
You won’t want to miss this one. It could be exactly what you need to hear.
See you in the pod.
Happy Sacred Sunday!
We’re smack in the middle of the most magical month of the year, and I have a question for you … does it feel magical and meaningful or are you plowing through with overwhelm, rush, and chaos waiting until it’s over so you can come up for air and catch your breath?
If you’re experiencing the latter, you are not alone my friend.
I got caught up in the craziness of December and noticed that my feelings and thoughts had taken a hold of the wheel, taking me further away from my desired vision of this “magical season.”
That’s when you know it’s time to take control of your mindset and get back into the driver’s seat of your life.
How do you do that?
With one simple trick …
BEING INTENTIONAL
This week on the podcast, I’m sharing 5 thoughts I am using intentionally this month to release the overwhelm and enjoy this season more.
1. I have an abundance of time
2. Everything I do is my choice
3. I am embracing festina lente
4. I am expanding my bandwidth
5. I remember moments, not days.
I explain these intentional thoughts in the podcast, but the most important thing about using these thoughts is that they remind me that I decide what I focus on, how much I take on, and how I show up for everything in my life.
These thoughts have allowed me to slow down, be present, and stop waiting for a different time to enjoy the magic.
And that has made all the difference.
I hope you’ll Bliss’n up and use these thoughts to support you during this time if the avalanche of the holidays starts to swallow you up.
Let me know if this resonated with you. I read all your emails and so enjoy knowing how these weekly moments of clarity and podcast episodes suppport your mindset, wellness, and relationships.
Sending you lots of love today, and every day.
Happy Sacred Sunday!
On this Sacred Sunday, I am celebrating and filing the first success I ever had. A success I share with you, and everyone I know.
Today I celebrate the success of being born. That’s right, today is my birthday.
And did you know that the probability of being born is about 400,000,000,000,000 (400 trillion) chances to 1?
Do you realize the odds you and I beat to be here right now sharing this moment? I bet you often forget how successful you actually are. I know I do a lot.
But not today. Today is about remembering, honoring, and looking forward.
As luck would have it … I don’t have to do this alone because I share this birthday with two special women in my life.
Looking Forward
Susan Ford Collins is my coach and mentor and has been for almost 10 years. (I didn’t realize how long it had been until I wrote this
)
But Susan also happens to be my birthday twin, only 40 years my senior. Since 2015, Susan has been guiding me and offering me a look into the kind of future I want to create. A healthy, active, purpuse-full, rich and meaningful future.
Susan is the epitome of who I want to be when i’m 85 and she inspires me every day to lead a life today that will improve my odds of getting there. Heck, I’ve beat bigger odds before so why not?!
(Beat the odds of being born, did you get it?
)

Remembering
Marie Celestine is the daughter of my virtual assistant and she came into my life when she was only 5 years old. This is the sweetest, most precious little girl you will ever meet. She loves to learn, dream, and play. She is audacious and bold and has such a bright future ahead.
Marie Celestine is my also birthday twin, only 37 years my junior. Today, this little girl turns 7 years old.
She inspires me to be a good role model for her — because as I make my way to 85 — I want her to be guided by me like I am by Susan.
I want her to grow up confidently and consciously and I want to see her continue to blossom into the highest and best version of herself in every chapter of her life.
That’s why today on the podcast, I’m remembering 3 lessons i’ve learned from my 45 years that I hope will serve her well.
Honoring
In full circle, and almost as if the Universe planned it this way, today I get to honor myself, and you. Because although we can look to the future and remember the past, the only moment we can ever truly live is the present.
I am so grateful that you are taking this journey right along with me.
This is 45 for me.
In this moment, I honor who I’ve been and who I’m becoming.
I honor the privilege of having a role model and the responsibility of being one. (Isn’t it just perfect synchronicity to share this day with Susan and Marie Celestine?

)
I am so thankful for my life in every way.
And I am thankful for you letting me slip into your inbox and your earpods to do this work I know I was born to do.
Today on the podcast I’m sharing my intentions for this next trip around the sun. Hopefully you’ll take the trip with me.
That’s a wrap for now.
Cheers to 7, 45, and 85.
Happy Sacred Sunday!
Have you ever done something you’ve done before—something that’s always been great—but for some reason, this time it feels extra magical? You can’t quite put your finger on it, but everything seems to align perfectly, and the experience leaves you in awe?
That’s exactly how I felt this past week.
My family has a fairly recent annual tradition of spending Thanksgiving in Orlando, FL, at our cousin’s vacation home. Every year it’s a wonderful time — but this year was beyond.
This time, we hosted Thanksgiving dinner on Friday and spent Thursday at the theme parks. I spent Thanksgiving Day riding roller coasters at Islands of Adventure and having the time of my life.

At one point, my youngest, Ryan, turned to me and said, “Mom, this day is all sparks of bliss!”
Let me tell you—he was right.
But it wasn’t just the theme park. The entire trip was filled with so much quality time, laughter, dancing, delicious food, and deep conversations.
After such a challenging year, it felt extra special to gift my mom this holiday vacation.
I even captured a video of my husband’s 98-year-old grandfather showing off his mobility and dance moves.
Looking around, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the nest we’ve built—a nest of family, love, and harmony.
This trip reminded me that our job is to create the rituals, traditions, and spaces for magical moments—to show up fully. But bliss isn’t something you can force. It has its own way of sneaking up on you, and all you need to do is pay attention so you don’t miss it.
In a beautifully synchronistic way, the trip ended just as November wrapped up, allowing us to step into this Sacred Sunday ready for a new month and a new theme.
Here we are, welcoming the final month of 2024, and I have an incredible theme to share with you.
Are you ready for it?
December’s theme is: DARE DECEMBER.
DARE is an acronym:
This is an invitation to step boldly into your dreams, take meaningful action, release what no longer serves you, and savor the beauty of this season.
I’d love for you to reflect on this:
What’s one thing you’re ready to dare yourself to do this month?
Is it a step toward a long-held goal, or maybe letting go of something that’s been weighing you down?
On today’s podcast, I’m sharing how to embrace this theme and make December a month of daring transformation.
Tune in and let me know how this resonates for you—I’d love to hear what you’re daring to dream, act on, release, or enjoy!
Happy Sacred Sunday!
You know what I love about words?
I love how they take on so many meanings and uses depending on the context, tone, and circumstances you use them in.
Words are powerful.
It’s probably why I love themes so much also. Because the more you apply them and think about them, the more meaningful they become.
This month I’ve been playing with the words Nest and Nesting because of the theme I set for November.
The theme began as a simple idea to spend this month focused on my priorities – family, home, business, finances, self.
But as each day passes, the more meaningful the theme becomes.
I was inspired recently to research what makes a good nest.
There are 3 characteristics necessary for a good, solid nest.
The nest has to be:
These elements took me down the rabbit hole of thinking about the metaphor of “The nest” as it relates to yourself and your life.
What I got was gold!
Tune into this week’s podcast to listen to how to apply these words, themes, and metaphors to your life. Because how we do one thing is how we do anything and there is so many lessons in all of it!
Happy Sacred Sunday!
How are you doing today?
How has your week been?
Are you ready for a fresh new start to the week?
Every Sunday is an opportunity to close a loop from the week before and set the tone for the next one.
Today is an opportunity to sit with your journal and your calendar and acknowledge yourself. Acknowledge the wins/successes you’re proud of, the stressors and challenges you faced, and the emotions/questions/thoughts you carried.
On this Sacred Sunday you can take a few minutes to ground yourself and recharge your energy.
This is the work of living with intention.
This week on the podcast, I’m sharing 3 important principles you can use in your life when you feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or stressed.
Because no matter how intentional you are — life will challenge you.
This week was a tough one for me as I had to deal with all the stress and negative emotions I experienced when I crashed my son, Orly’s, car.
The car Orlando and I bought from him less than 3 weeks ago.
His very first car.
One minute you’re going about life with in your daily routine, with your daily to-do’s, and daily thoughts when the Universe throws a wrench at you and snaps you out of your routine.
This is life, and the best thing you can do is learn how to manage your emotional wellness when that happens.
This week on the podcast I’m sharing 3 radical principles to help you during moments like these:
Tune in and save this episode, as it’s one you may need to hear more than once.
And if you’re seeking deeper work on your mindset and want to explore these concepts further with personalized guidance, I invite you to schedule a complimentary consult with me by clicking here.
Wishing you a simple and sacred Sunday.
Happy Sacred Sunday!
It’s my favorite time of the month … the time to set an intention/theme for November.
If you’re short on time and want to go straight into the podcast, click here.
How This Practice Began
It all started in 2019 at the Summit of Greatness conference. We were invited to choose an intention for the conference, and they had a company making bracelets on site with the word you chose to wear throughout the conference.
I fell in-love with that process and began choosing a word of the year to wear on my wrist all year long.
(My friend, Laura, made me my first word of the year bracelet, and to pay it forward, I’ve been making bracelets for my clients and loved ones ever since.)
Every time I’d look at my wrist, I’d remember the word, and I realized how much more intentional I was being in my daily life.
How This Practice Evolved
As time went by, I felt compelled to repeat this practice for each season, and then for each month — and now I even set intentions on birthdays, before events, and even during each of my coaching sessions each week.
It has become a deeply ingrained habit to be intentional in how I show up in the world — and that has made a huge difference in my life.
My word of the year has become the overarching umbrella covering me and all my other intentions along the way.
To give you a tangible example: my word for 2024 is LISTEN.
Then each month I create my theme for the month (Forward February, Interrupt July, Simply Soulful September are a few examples.)
As I’ve gone through each month in 2024, I’ve listened and paid attention to the areas in my life I was moving forward in, patterns I wanted to interrupt or break, or simply soulful moments that were saving my life.
I remind myself to listen to my family, friends, and clients.
I remind myself to listen for the sparks of bliss (the act of blisstening!)
I remind myself to listen to my intuition and trust the process.
Why This Practice Matters
Each month, season, and year brings a new energy and flavor.
When circumstances change or life comes at us fast, these practices help us balance between staying grounded and going with the flow. (We don’t want to get stuck in one place nor drift away without noticing.) They help us connect the dots, look for the meaning, and find lessons in all the moments.
Because even when we have the best of intentions, sometimes we fail to live with intention.
And often we’ll feel called to set an intention that means one thing in our head — only to discover that it had a completely different meaning than what we thought.
This practice invites synchronicities and magic to work their way into the picture.
Since I’ve been sharing this intentional practice with you every month on the podcast, I’ve uncovered the framework I’d been using all along. So that leads us to this episode. I’m sharing the framework and the theme I chose for November.
I sure hope it serves you well.
Sending you so much love this fall season.
Happy Sacred Sunday!
Have you ever had one of those days when you’re in a terrible mood because it feels like everything is going wrong or the world is against you?
Do you ever get stuck in a negative energy loop?
Sometimes this feeling catches you by surprise, but maybe you find yourself feeling like this regularly when you’re in a job or environment that is conflictive, challenging, or problematic.
I feel you!!!
The other day this happened to me, and it was rough.
It all started with trying to get my boys out of bed in the morning to get to school, (cue the teenage years drama) to a spiral of events cascading on me one after the other.
I was in a negative loop and it was a hard one to close.
Buuuttt…. luckily I’ve got tools that help me get through moments like these … and today on the podcast, I’m sharing them with you!
This month we’re implementing the theme of Closing Loops and let me tell you, negative loops are one we must learn to close, otherwise they consume all our other open loops and its no fun.
Tune in today. This episode is like having a chat with me at the kitchen table where I get to spill the beans on all my mental drama … and simultaneously give you some action steps to take when you’re wallowing in your own.
I hope you’ll enjoy it, and I’d love for you to write back and let me know how it served you. I personally open every one of your emails and I so enjoy hearing from many of you each week.
The episode was a little longer than usual so I’ll keep this email a little shorter for balance
.
Cheers to a sacred Sunday and a beautiful week!
Happy Sacred Sunday!
The hardest part of going to law school for me was learning that there is no right answer.
Until then, there had always been a right answer.
Growing up, whenever I took a test, it was a multiple choice (choose the right answer) or a fill in test (write in the right answer).
During undergrad I majored in accounting, which revolved around math. Math is specific — and you’re either right or wrong.
Being right or wrong gave me certainty, and that made me feel safe.
But law school was a different animal.
Welcome to the land of grey.
In this setting, I was being taught philosophies and laws — and they all had arguments for and against.
Every opinion has a dissenting opinion.
I’ll never forget sitting in a criminal law class talking about facts of a case in which a person committed a crime, but the courts overturned his guilty verdict on appeal. I’d think, oh, he was innocent; he didn’t commit the crime. And then I’d learn he had committed the crime, but there had been procedural mistakes in the investigation which made it impossible to convict him.
But wait, did he commit the crime or not?
Turns out, that wasn’t the point of the lesson. I was so confused!
At first, I hated this part of law school.
But I now realize it trained me for something bigger.
The skill of being able to argue both sides of an argument, of looking at things neutrally, and of understanding the grey makes me a great life coach.
It’s what has helped me take my clients out of an all-or-nothing mentality and help them stop self-sabotaging themselves because of it.
These skills taught me there’s always a flip side to things, that you don’t have to be married to everything you believe today, and that you can always change your mind, adjust, and grow.
Recently, I also learned one crucial piece to this puzzle — that you don’t have to use things against yourself — which is another way of saying it doesn’t have to be all or nothing.
And that’s what I’m talking about in today’s podcast episode.
If you tuned in last week, we spoke about the power of changing your identity when you want to achieve a new goal, desire, or outcome.
This week, we’re exploring the flip side to that and making sure you don’t use the tools against yourself.
I’m sharing deep insights on how to balance working on new identities while understanding which parts of your old identity still serve a purpose.
This is one of my favorite episodes so far, and I can’t wait to hear what you think about it. Once you listen, (or blissten … I couldn’t help myself!), write back to this email and share your thoughts with me.
Until then, sending you so much love and light on this beautiful Sunday.
Hey!
Have you ever surprised yourself when you finally change something you thought you could never change?
There’s an adage that says, “A zebra can never change his stripes.” We’ve long believed that deep down inside, people don’t change.
But over the years, science has disproven this theory. Research shows we can change our brains, reprogram our minds, and reinvent ourselves — proving that we don’t have to be stuck on “that’s just the way I am.”
Even though I know this to be true, I help my clients make this their truth, and I have witnessed radical transformations — it still shocks me when I do this for myself!
This week on the podcast I’m talking about changing your identity when it no longer serves you and how I am tackling a part of my identity that no longer serves me — the fire-drill personality.
Some habits are hard to break and identities that are hard to step into. This one has been a personal challenge of mine for a long time.
That’s why I blew my mind when I recorded my podcast ahead of time in lieu of the pending Hurricane Milton. It was in the process of planning the episode that I found myself asking, “Who even am I?”
When you put your head down and do the work, one day you get to look up and realize how far you’ve come and how much you’ve changed.
If you’ve ever had a habit you want to adopt, a part of your lifestyle you want to change, or an aspect of your personality you wish you could change, this episode is for you.
Tune in and happy Sunday.
